COOPERATION or CORRUPTION ? ? ?

"C" for Corruption? Naaah, Never..!! Check out for your vocabulary dude..!! Its "C" for Cooperation, these days..!! Yes, Cooperation is the new buzzword these days !! So, is Corruption giving way to Cooperation? Or is it the other way round? Can both also go hand in hand? Well, Idealists would choose to say that the two are absolutely contradictory and can't thrive simultaneously. Realists would turn 180 degrees opposite & would say that the truth is way beyond "simple opinions !!" Confused...? Sounds all LATIN to you...? All right, then let me show you the real mirror...

Recently, I thought of Owning a LPG connection for my home at Hyderabad, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, also renowned for its illuminating Char-Minar & Dazzling Tollywood. My mere "Thought" was turned into an "Aspiration," when I was made aware of the fact that I'll have to wait for 26,000 homes to be blessed by these connections, before I could actually light up my burner, to cook. My "Aspiration" soon transformed into an "Ambition," the moment I came to know that I'll have to pay a whopping 6000 INR (normal 3000 bucks) to a kind cooperator, to own a connection in this incarnation itself. Reluctantly my "Ambition" succumbed, giving way to "Desperation" & ultimately I had to stuff the cooperator's illegal mouth with my legitimate money. After looting me, he left me sulking along with a promise to make me a proud owner of "my own gas connection" along with legal papers within 2 days. His revert back, the very next day proved him a man of his words & finally I also became a part of this COOPERATIVE society, thus making myself and the so-called cooperator a part of CORRUPTION too !!

Did it raise a bell of alarm, leave you in a state of fury or leave you questioning yourself about it? If yes, then congratulations because you are still breathing !! If No, then All I have to say is May God Bless You !! The incidence that I just mentioned above is quite trivial and banal to cite, as we all are well versed with such situations in our day-to-day lives. We want to travel, but there is dearth of tickets; We approach a cooperator & pay (corrupt) him for his cooperation & make our voyage hassle free, thus denying the same facility to passengers, waiting in long queues. We want to rent a flat, but not able to find a desired one; We ask for a broker's cooperation, move further by corrupting him with some money & get a number of options to choose amongst them, thus doing injustice to thousand who still bite dust on roads, craving for shelters.

These are a very few common man's examples from day to day lives. Recently, we acknowledged C.W.G. Scam, thus authenticating the prevalence of such cooperative societies aiding corruption at all the levels of  our Indian Democracy. Indian Scenario is now over brimmed with such blacklisted cooperative corrupted societies. Right from Ration to Fashion, Food to Fire, Ballot to Bullet we could easily witness such cooperators working in tandem with various societies easily vulnerable for corruption.

But who is to be crowned with the responsibility of such Cooperative-Corruption? Sleeping Government, Opportunistic Cooperators, Selfish Citizens, Unfathomable Desires, Unreasonable Needs, Impotent Systems or something else? If you'll approach a normal literate & Well educated Indian about the problem, they will proudly shrug their shoulders yelling that its the fault of Government and the systems prevailing. But "Mr. Enlightened Indian, "Who chose such a government and who created such a conducive ambiance for such systems to thrive, easily?" Even before you could realize your mistake, you would proudly shout at the top of your voice, "I want to avail the facility now, not after 2-3 years. So, I chose an easy way to make it available for me !!" So, is it unreasonable convenience or lack of patience, that is to be blamed for existence of such systems? Scratching your head for answers? Believe me, I am doing the same !! Its an ultimate example of intertwined sophistication involving everybody from tip to toe, without a single exception.

So, what's the solution to demolish such cooperative corrupted societies? Should we just abide by the fact that this is the real world and start living with such societies? Or should we become strong enough to acknowledge the fact, that cooperation is merely a convenient name given to corruption for our benefit? Should we just accept Cooperation by Corruption as a "blessing in disguise?" Or be gutsy enough to rise up and unveil this unreasonable blessing & the people boosting this blessing, even if it costs us our convenience, comfort & luxury? These questions are really tough ones to answer. I would christen them as blinders !! These and many more such questions, we frequently face and believe me we ain't able to decipher out the solutions of even one such question. Therefore, I would like to leave these questions open ended for your own interpretations. Not dragging this discussion any further, I would like to wind up this discussion now with a stern belief, that someday we would certainly be able to answer such questions & pray that day to arrive sooner or later, for the sake of humanity. May be that day, we would be able to face proudly this world, this society, this humanity and above all our own conscience !! Amen !!

Thanks a lot for your valuable time, folks !! Your much awaited comments on this post are welcome !!
