FLAUNT or FAIL..!!!!

Strange title, right people!! Some might think how can both be related?

Well, my posts are here just to tell you about the hot, latest & happening developments of our life these days. Today, I’ll discuss with my friends about flaunting, which has not only become an inevitable part of our professional but also of personal lives too. Incredible, right!! But it’s true & for all those gentlemen or ladies who aren’t buying this thought of mine for the moment, can just be a little patient for some revealing facts of life while they go through the entire post.

So, how many of us have faced situations wherein boss said, “Look at that guy, he always seems to be working & never looks free?” The moment these words were uttered by your boss, you felt a strong itch to say that most of the times he just pretends or flaunts to work. In reality, he must be surfing porn sites, playing games or doing some other irrelevant work over internet. So what?? He is busy or at least he can flaunt to be busy!! Welcome to the world of flaunting!!

Gone are the days, when you used to think that you can finish your work sincerely & then take out some time for yourself & do things openly or leave early from office. Today’s corporate world is full of FLAUNTS!! You might not be working during your productive work hours, but if you stay late & flaunt to work, you are one of the most essential asset to the organization. Employees coming on time & leaving on time are considered to be “work neglecters.” Yeah, that’s right!! Barring a few instances wherein you really need to pull up your socks & burn your oil after office hours, the majority of people like to flaunt to prove they work more than required. Would you like to differ from this point?

Now, let me tell you the importance of flaunting in personal life. Suppose a friend of yours gives you a call today during your office hours. You, out of courtesy, out of love or out of respect for that person just managed your time to talk to him / her; Outcome? Congratulations!! You are one of the most “Vella” people on the earth, now. That’s just because you chose to talk to him / her during your working hours!! What reciprocation to your gesture!! Had there been a scenario, wherein you were free & available to talk to your friend but chose not to, may be just for flaunting, you would have been crowned as the busiest person on earth & definitely an asset to your organization!!

You can be a true, honest & sincere person or an employee. You might be one of the purest people at heart & genuine human being, but if you can’t flaunt, you are bound to fail. Mark it again; these are not my words, but my observations along with experiences!! You might think that you finish off your work quickly at office to leave early from office today, but that would be called as being inefficient as you left from office early. You might think that you can finish off your work quickly to spend some time with your loved ones, but what’s the use!! After a point of time, your loved one’s itself would start taking you for granted that you are always available & have all the time in this world to talk to them!! Shocked? If yes, then please become practical!! If not, congratulations that you already are way too practical!!

So, the success mantra for these days is FLAUNT or FAIL..!! Nobody wants to your gentility!! Nobody wants to consider how true you are to yourself & to others!! All they are interested to see is, you flaunting!! So, the next time your mom calls you during your office hours or even after your office hours (if you are that good enough to flaunt) just tell her that you are really busy at work, even if you are sipping a cup of coffee chit chatting with your friends. And just see the outcome that your whole colony would get to know that you are always occupied in some or the other work. And the next time when any of your friends call you to talk to you, just disconnect the call & drop him a text stating, “You are in a meeting & you would get back to him as soon as you are free,” even if you are playing games over your system. You would surely command respect, the next time you are with your friend.

The next time when your boss is not around just spend some time loitering here & there, keeping the work pending. The moment he sees you working till late & typing something or the other furiously over your laptop, he would love his decision to hire you as his beneficial employee. Many of you people might take this post as a sarcastic one. Many of you might agree to this post as you yourself must have experienced it around your professional as well as personal lives. Many of you must now have a success mantra to get successful in your lives personally & professionally as well. I leave this topic open ended for all such kind of discussions.

Don’t you feel happy to return to your ship?

Life is all about everyday new challenges, struggles, explorations, discoveries, voyages etc. We all keep sprinting across the throngs of people, in search of our identity or in pursue of our dreams. In today’s ambitious world, people often feel they are self sufficient & quite capable of managing themselves. To be candid we all are quite capable of taking care of ourselves in one or the other manner. But, don’t you feel when the sun sets & when the day’s journey is over for you, you should return to your ship? Don’t you feel when the day is over & you go to bed, you need to share about the new experiences of the day? Aaaaah....!! Caught you!! Everybody feels the same!! This brief post of mine is all about acknowledging & valuing the importance of those ships of our lives.

We all have a set of dreams, ambitions, targets & passion in our lives. Every day when we get up in the morning, we think it’s another opportunity to drive closer to where we want to be!! People start energetically their journey for the day, either alone or with some of their companions. The whole day they toil hard oblivious of the fact if it’s taking toll on their mind or body. While travelling back to their respective dwelling places in the evening, it just feels exactly like returning to your ship after the day’s hardships. When I am talking about “the ship,” I am not talking about the concrete build four walled house, where you are returning to. I am talking about someone waiting for you or you waiting to see someone eagerly. Strange!! You would say what has it got to do with my day’s hardships?

You might become the most famous person of this world. You might achieve all your ambitions which you always craved for. You might also become what you dreamt to be. But then, would you really be happy at the end of any day, while you sleep? I am sure the bells in your head would have already started ringing. Yeah, I am talking about when you, at the end of the day, sit back & relax yourselves or rejuvenate yourselves for another journey, the next day; don’t you feel the importance of being on your ship? But, do you acknowledge the importance of that person who makes you feel that your day is complete now?

“The Ship,” that I am referring to is none other than whom you would love to return to at the end of a tiring day. Someone special, whom you would like to hug & say, “Now, I feel rejuvenated again. I am no longer tired now.” Don't you feel like talking to someone (may be even over phone) or just to think about someone who can make you smile after a long tiring day? It can be your mother, your father, your brother, your sister, your special someone (partner / best half) or simply a friend. Life is like a race & if you won’t run fast you would lose –heard it somewhere? Yeah, the famous dialogue of character of Mr. Viru Sehastra Budhhi from the movie 3 idiots. But, always remember that often in our quest to chase our dreams, ambitions or passion, we forget to acknowledge the fact that our loved ones are also running with us, till the time we fall & they bend forward to pick us up!! Please avoid such situations.

By today’s post, I would like to make everybody a little wary about their chase. We all love to fall back on someone at the end of a tiring day. We all love to share our dreams & the success when we reach at the zenith of our dreams. We all would love to rest on the shoulders of someone whom we love, when we are down, to make ourselves rejuvenated once again. We all want to return to our “respective ships” after the long & hard voyage. So, let’s acknowledge the importance of them from today onwards. Let’s value the existence of them in our lives. Not everybody is as lucky as we are to have a ship which is waiting for us with both arms widely opened to receive us, at the end of a hard day.

Let’s call them today & tell them how much we love them. I salute to all those ships!! Just one word of affection, love & acknowledgement would make them happy. So, please value them in your lives just as you value your dreams & passion. Cheers!!

THE REAL LIFE MANAGERS...

& the saga of the real life managers continues...!! Yes, through this post I intend to talk about the real managers of our life & their powers & influence in our day today lives!! You guessed it right people; I am talking about WOMEN power..!! The powers vested in this god’s unique creation can act as a boon (if applied positively) or even may act as a bane to wreck you (if applied negatively). We all live with this fact and would certainly abide with this universal truth that females are one of the most influential personality in our lives, right from our birth. So, what made me bring this topic out of the blue today?

Few days back one of my friend gave me a call and mentioned me how successful he is now in his flourishing career just because of his friend (now fiancé). He was going through a rough patch in his career & was deep down into his shells build around him with the walls of low confidence. His fiancé gave her the courage, motivation & stood by him in the hours of trial & rest is the present, successful friend of mine. WOMEN Power..!!

An old lady nearing her late fifties suddenly came to know that her son & her daughter-in-law were victims of a road mishap. She is all left alone with 6 years of their son with a very little amount of money & a huge responsibility on her aged shoulders to build the future of her grandson. I am talking about one of my old school friend, whose grandmother joined some job at the time, when she should have thought of some retirement plans, just to build up a nice future for her grandson. After being out of touch for some good 5-6 years, I got to know last week that my friend is working with an M.N.C. in Bangalore & her grandmother is still with him. WOMEN Power..!!

A man from a normal middle class family, earning some good amount of money suddenly is found one day sitting in midst of the hall of his home. His face was stuffed with a blend of a lot many expressions like anger, stress, distress, restlessness & many more. On being enquired by his best half that what’s eating him away so much that day, he reluctantly said, “My 50% salary this month was deducted due to sudden tax payments which company forgot to mention to me in advance. Rest 25% would be gone in housing loan, car loan & other small stuffs. The left out 25% wouldn’t be enough this month to run our household and I am not able to think how to manage now.” His best half just put an arm around his shoulders and said, “Relax & give me a moment!!” The next moment she came out of her room with a good amount of cash & handed over to him. On being enquired about the cash her answer was, “Whatever cash you used to give me for my own personal expenses, I used to save it every month & now we can use it. So, just calm down and all would be perfect!!” WOMEN Power – The Power of my MOM..!!

An MBA graduate, trying to make his own identity in some or the other way was struggling to build up a good career. He was trying but still not trying that hard to get a good profile / job. His fiancé decided to take up the challenge & acted as a “push” to his stagnant motivation & efforts. She acted as a boss at times to scold him, acted as a lover at times to caress him, acted as a mentor at times to discuss things with him & also acted as a guide at times to show him the right path. The result was his approach towards his career, his job & also towards his life took 360 degrees turn. He became more serious about his work & committed about his professional career. He became cautious about his selections & positive in his day to day approaches. WOMEN Power..!!

There can be so many examples from our day today lives wherein we would have seen the power & influence of women behind our successes. It could be in the form of mother, lover, sister, grandmother, friend or may be some international figure like Mother Teresa. We simply can’t overlook the powers vested in the real managers or the home makers of our lives. What even more fascinating is that these real life managers are now coming up to become corporate life managers too!!

One of my very good friends recently quit her job to become an entrepreneur!! She went one step ahead from many of people like us & decided to be a job provider, rather than being a job seeker. It’s been quite some time now since her venture came in to existence and she is already doing wonders. Many of the world’s biggest corporate brands are now being managed by women across the globe. So, howzzat..???? Only one answer... “Hat’s Off!!”

From home to sports, from politics to corporate, from jobs to entrepreneurship, you name a field & you would find an evidence of “WOMEN Power!!” There might be a lot many people who would like to state the negative influences or effects of women power too. But, this post was strictly intended to salute all those females acting as a boost to the lives of so many people like us & making us proud. This post gave me an opportunity to convey my respect, honour & share the saga of a few incidences that happened around me, citing the power of women. So, three cheers for our real life managers!! Three Cheers for WOMEN Power!!
